I really dislike the idea of stories like this being tagged as incest. While legally and morally, it subjectively is, it is not by the literal definition, incest. They are not blood related so it isn't incest. What annoys me is both the tagging and how shallow the writers use the term, majority of the time they drop it either in the middle of the intercourse or at the end as a giant fuck you. You want to do step-sibling stories, fine, but don't label them as incest. When I use the tag incest I am looking for an incest story, not a step-whoever banging their step-whatever. In the same vain it's like using the tag bestiality for a catgirl, yes technically she is a animal but in the genre she is just human, a human with animal features.

I've gotta agree with Mikintodo. Quite a few of these tags are becoming so homogenized that it defeats the purpose of the tags in the first place. Tags are, first and foremost supposed to help people find what they are looking for. Helping people avoid content is a secondary purpose. For example, the current topic at hand, incest. I'm willing to meet the issue halfway if when using the incest tag relative and step-relative are under different tags. So yes, that would be sister and stepsister, mother and step-mother, aunt and step-aunt, cousin and step-cousin, and so on. Then anyone who wants to avoid incest still gets to, and people who want to further filter specific types of incest are can now do so. Problem solved without endlessly arguing back and forth what constitutes and doesn't constitute incest in terms of legality, morality, and even simple semantics.

Just this year we finally resolved another tag categorization. Remember when futanari-on-male was all filed under pegging? The incest sub-categories should likewise be further differentiated
