Just keep doing these - they're a surefire way to actually decrease the chance of them being translated because the incentive for translators is gone. Why? It's like something being done by another group - people often have this idea in their head that only one translation can be the true one, and that's, more often than not, the first one to appear since it's the most widely distributed.

I usually only do things that's over a year old. I highly doubt this series will ever get translated. How accurate are these translations? We'll never know until a proper translation is done. But it's either this or reading the japanese raws, your pick.

that's true, but there are countless numbers of mangas. And unless the work is from a popular artist, most series will never get translated.

That's not true. Since most translation is voluntary fan-made, it's normal for something to not translated for YEARS. For example, right now I'm involved in a project of translating a manga from 2005. Only popular works that got lightning-speed translation but that's not even guaranteed. Raws floating around the internet without translation for over 2 years are something normal. While I respect your idea of "at least we can understand what's going on", I also agree with what Schroedinger said.

Saying these are a surefire way to DECREASE the chances of these being translated is fucking stupid. If a group really wanted to translate it, they would go ahead and do it regardless of if it was already done. The only times this doesn't happen is if the group feels confident that the original translation is fine and that their isn't much need to do their own thing.

Request them to groups if you really feel these shouldn't be done by a machine, LWB,Soba-Scans etc. are always accepting requests so if you've got the cash then you can request they do these.
