Hey guys, I'm a new solo translator. I'm sick of low effort AI translated doujinshis so I decided start translating myself if there's little to no chance of this being picked up by an established group. You can probably tell what I'm referring to based on the doujin I decided to translate first.

Here's a preview of what I'm currently working on. Completion will be slow as I'm currently in school and can only work on this in my free time. I do expect to finish translating the entire doujin in about 2 weeks.

I have a friend who is more proficient in Japanese than me helping me to proofread. Either way, do drop me some feedback and criticism.

@Charliechan25 I don't know about your recommendation of artists, look pretty niche to me. I prefer prioritizing the ones with already translated parts so we don't get blue balled first.

People were pretty pissed that books 3 and 4 of the series will never get a proper translation after what the other guy did to it. So I wanted to upload something just to reassure people that this is being worked on and will get a proper release.

I also wanted to get some feedback on misc stuff like typesetting and phrasing, so that I can revise them to make a better final product.

People don't like MTLs because they're unreadable. If you take 6 pages from a doujin and upload them, you now too have a an unfinished product that nobody can enjoy.
I'm particularly pissed off about how much praise you're getting, that's honestly my biggest problem.
That other guy probably had good intentions too (he might be a troll though seeing as he released another mtl work, but nobody suspected him to be a troll after his first upload.), but he got shit on relentlessly. You have good intentions and yet everyone is praising you and sharing resources with you. Nobody sent me a nice link to a bunch of resources when I was starting out.

I'm not looking for an argument or piss you off anymore than you already are.

I get where you're coming from with uploading an unfinished product. I've seen other people upload incomplete translations in the past while they were still working on it, and I figured it was probably okay. But I guess it isn't.

I intended to show my work in progress and use it as an announcement to quell people's disappointment and anger from the 2 MTLs. And since I'm not a huge scanlation group, uploading the preview was the best I could think of. But you are right that if I wanted feedback/criticism, I could've gone to the forum instead.

Since this was your main point of anger, do know that I did not upload it with the intention to get attention or praised or anything, or to get a nice resource compilation sent to me. My main goal was to give some sort of hope to the people who were disappointed. But it seems like it had the opposite effect based on how pissed you are.

Just chill out and I hope there isn't any hard feelings between us.

Remember people, even if a TL job is not good, if it's at least done by human hand and sincerely trying to do deliver something good, it's if nothing else, worth encouraging a person to go on. It at least shows you care about what you're doing.

MTL and AI translation shows that you don't even care in the slightest.
