Bruh at least typeset and revise the AI's translation a little. Bro just brought it straight up here as-is.

No, but it is a great way to hide such galleries and should be the standard.

I mean, if you hide it, we won't know what galleries need translations that were made by shitty MTLs, this includes ChatGPT, which I consider it as a MTL.

It just means I can take this doujin to my Senior TL so that Doujins.com can work on it. Or anyone else really.

The people hate ai translation because they know it will eventually replace their overpriced translations in 5-10 years when it is perfected.

@GuroLover12 I don’t know, I think Japanese might be too complex, subtle, context based, whatever, for an LLM to ever consistently do a better job than a real translator (unless there’s some major breakthrough, which is possible, but I personally can’t see it).

I think what’ll happen in the foreseeable future is ‘AI’ gets good enough for existing translators to use to write the bulk of the script, then they go through and fix it. It will significantly increase the amount of manga and doujins they can translate, not replace them outright.

Do you think we will be stuck in this technology age.... forever and ever?
Look at the sora breakthrough.
10 years from now all of ai will be 100x better.

@GuroLover12 right now AI is still in the honeymoon phase, going to need to wait and see if it stalls out at some point in the next year or two as most of the low hanging fruit get picked clean. Massive increases every couple months isn’t sustainable, and even if AI gets 2X better at JPN -> EN translations I still don’t think that’s good enough to totally replace real translators.

Also sora being really good at generating videos doesn’t 1:1 translate to improved translation quality. A video is basically just a sequence of images, and when you think of it like that sora isn’t that crazy.
