Beyond the fact that this is already licensed by FAKKU yada yada, leaving your files in RGB and not leveling them is a major pet-peeve.
Here's a quick comparison: https://ouo.io/3o0wf
You'll notice your images have this weird, ugly brown tint to them - that's because you're in RGB and not greyscale. Leaving your files in RGB also massively bloats your file size. You're just shy of 100MB for 24 pages of pretty damn low resolution.
You'll also notice your images have faded colors - that's because you didn't level them (especially the blacks). Adjustment layer > levels
Finally, your cleaning is pretty bad. There's dust (remnants of uncleaned Japanese text) in basically every bubble. Kinda would expect better out of "paid commissions".
Well this group started as me just translating by myself and hiring an experienced editor to do everything else. Now, I'm actually having a team train up to be a permanent part of the operation. Sadly, there are some growing pains associated with that but we make sure the client is satisfied first and foremost. That said, I'll be taking the advice to heart, let's see how everything looks looks once we put these things into practice.
Also, I may be misinformed but it is my understanding that in comic translation, you don't have to close out dialogue bubbles with periods except when used for emphasis as the cuts between bubbles serves the same grammatical function of a period. It's a minor thing and an easy fix in the worst case scenario, anyways.
Yeah, periods are not necessary on comics bubbles. A period is an indicative of the end of a sentence, so if the bubble doesn't contain multiple sentences, the bubble in itself is the indicative of the end of the sentence.
@EL-JEFE Sweet, thanks for fixing. See below on explanation on punctuation. In short: punctuation rules are the same as in other English medium.
@masterandi You're completely wrong. Periods are necessary in comics. Not using punctuation is a Japanese manga tradition. It doesn't apply to Western languages, which includes translations.
