That page 6 dialogue makes no inference to her husband, the mc refers to her as "the landlords wife" which he would not do if husband was dead and he therefore had never seen/met him.

And she gets physically stuck in the wall which appears to have a hole in it. Not seeing how ghost or widow qualifies.

I don't get it, there is no implication that she is a real ghost and she could only pass through because of the hole, and there is no mention that her husband is dead. Even in that page that where you said the husband is implied to be dead there is nothing to hint at it.

is there any prequel or lost in translation that i miss?

Reading through the story and the comments again now, I might have overreacted and read way too much into the story. I'm sorry for being hostile to the people in the comments. I should not have acted the way I did.

Hey, I'm Jumi, the quality checker responsible for the whole "landlady/landlord's wife" thing.

I did some more looking into it and even though 大家の奥さん can mean both "the married landlady" and "the landlord's wife", it seems that the second one is the obvious meaning when presented. From what I had seen of the story, it seemed evident to me that she was the landlady, since her mysterious husband is never seen, though he's mentioned once later in the cheating page.

I think the reader is supposed to be unsure of whether or not she's a ghost. The whole "passing through the wall" thing is explained away by the actual hole in the wall, so sure, that's a fake out, but then she's got the glowing eye at the end, which I interpret to be a message saying "look, she was a ghost after all". The whole "maybe a ghost, maybe not a ghost" thing led to the situation with her being the landlady/landlord's wife getting even more jumbled, since the reader could imagine a backstory where they were both dead but the wife came back as a ghost and managed the place, or a backstory where the husband was alive and managing things, but his dead wife secretly interacted with tenants behind his back. The story makes you ask quite a few questions, for a simple 16-page h-doujin.

But in the end, it was most likely a mistranslation on my part, so I apologize.
