It's this industry's own fault for trying to link these seiyuus to the anime characters they play. In lovelive's case, it's actually worse. Their promotion team literally tried to promote these seiyuus as 2.5d (one of the seiyu actually commented on this) and milked shit out of them this way. So if you try to market these seiyuus as living avatars for these "pure 2d idol girls" in the real world, you better do a good job at background check. Otherwise you have no one but yourself to blame when things backfired.

Honoka is innocent, she did nothing wrong.
Emi Nitta is more like a victim in this case, although she definitely was a slut.
But this idol seiyuu industry and sunrise? served them right!
