Maybe this isn't one story told over one sleepover, but rather a series of stories that they tell over the course of several sleepovers and other meet-ups as they get older. That's why the background, characters and story gets more intricate as it goes on.

Maybe it's just me, but does anyone find it odd that this potion/serum everyone is exposed to has the exact same effect on all the species in this world except SPECIFICALLY humanoid males? I mean, all other male species get get the added virility, size and loss of levels of intelligence. Humanoid WOMEN get the same effects other females get. But humanoid males (I've seen it happen to human and Elf men) become femanized?

Kinda seems like bullshit, but yes, I know I'm putting to much thought into it.

@moximoore It only makes sense when you think about what Jay's fetish is and looked at all his other work. He's really into cuckholding, the kind of one where you have the BBC banging the white man's wife orgirlfriend to make half breed babies. This is it in furry form. He's just substituted the black guy with anthro wolfs and the human males are the cucked husband or boyfriend. He's a good artist, but not a good writer and has a one track mind.

I don't agree. I find that there is some kind of ferocity in the wolves' characters that is very compelling. Naylor's got something there.
He gives its due to the primal aspect of sexuality and how, no matter how much we may try to disguise it, it's almost impossible to repress or resist
So, maybe it doesn't suit your tastes, but I believe he's a pretty good writer.
