Actually the anime did very well when it aired, and the Blurays are doing good so far, it seems that it will be able to go over 18k blurays sold if it keeps doing as it has been. Each volume is selling over 3k copies, and that is actually good numbers for anime blurays over there.
It seemed that it did "poorly" at the beginning because it was assumed that it was one more of the harem animes that fill every season, but it was quickly shown that it was actually a lot better than your 17e809324924 harem light novel adaptation.
