I am truly appalled at the lack of quality of such scans. It's a shame, a good artist but it is virtually unreadable. I would like an explanation why this flood of poor quality scans? It is a new fashion?

Poor quality of early scans is expected and happens LITERALLY EVERY COMIKET. They always get replaced by higher-quality scans over the weeks following. Relax.

no, @wavedash, that doesn't happen. almost every comiket starts with high resolution scans regularly. there are a few ones with even 6 Mb per image.
i don't know what the hell is doing this guy pop9, at least he should tell why doing this, i would understand if his scanner is messed but he does not even explain why.

6MB per image? All that sort of size proves is that whoever is uploading has no idea how compression works. There's no need at all for images to be that large.
The same is true here. The uploader/scanner turned the compression up way too high for an x1500 image and the artifacting makes it look odd.

I bet pop9 doesnt scan all these doujins. He just downloads them from jp websites and uploads them here.
Take a look here http://www.deb.gs/BhwBh(dot)tv/detail/GLnVARUsC7 . Usually these doujins are also incomplete, without credits pages, bonus illustrations or the usual blank pages. They are also upscaled which makes them dirtier.

Honestly, I prefer chinese scans over this. Also, if you are quick enough, you can upload them before pop9 for earning some extra GP ;)

But anyway, people, as much as I am annoyed at pop9 for not even replying to PMs from TLs, ease of. As has been said here, he is unlikey to be scanning them, he is simply sharing what he finds. And anyway, a bad scan is better than no scan. I am not saying we should be a chorus of praising pop9, he probably only cares about the GP income for the Hentaiverse (Level 482 (Godslayer)), but he is doing NOTHING WRONG. Neither are the crappy scanners. It's not like they are making you pay for their crappy work, right? So be thankful they, and pop9, are actually sharing something. If you are sufficiently annoyed and want to do something rather than flame on the net, join a scanlation group as a proofreader, editor, or translator, start scanning, or simply spend $ in a DLsite or such and share quality digital stuff.
