I'm in the process of editing the grammar for all the pages, but I was wondering how I would go about reducing the file size of the images. Would re-scaling them down be an appropriate solution, or no?

1. Resize the image.
Image #5 is 4200x6000. Try 2100x3000 (Image #5 reduced its size by ~2/3) or 1400x2000 (reduced by ~7/8).
Make sure the proportion of the width and height stay the same.

The key is to reduce the dimensions of the image as much as possible without making the quality unnacceptable.

2. Lower the jpeg quality
For example, image #5 is saved with q=92. Try q=85, or q=80.

You don't want to go too low, or the image quality will suffer.
This doesn't have as big an impact as the dimensions or image bit-depth so you don't have to go lower.
One thing, try not to go above q=90. The file starts growing unacceptably large for the amount of quality gained.
