So it looks like Shiori would be staying at Touko's place, assuming things go well with the parents (father specifically) but then she all of a sudden disappears without warning...and we as the reader have no idea what actually happened. Are we supposed to assume things went badly? Even if it went badly in that the father expressed disapproval, since the college Shiori would be going to is close to Touko's house, meeting up everyday shouldn't be an issue. So what happened? Are we just not supposed to know? If that is the case, I think that total BS.

I guess this is all up to the reader's imagination as to what the actual relationship between the two was and how it ended.

The way I see it is that the yuri relationship was all in Touko's head. This is why we can see the scenes where it looks to be more from Shiori's perspective as far less romantic and more like friends.
I take it as YES they spent time together, YES Touko let Shiori move in, and then Shiori graduated and left without Touko ever admitting her feelings. Taking this further we can imagine that most of the lewd scenes were recreated from the girl she used to date but just imagined Shiori in the former girl's shoes.

Granted I think the death theory is just as valid as this one. Or the realist one of she just gave up the relationship for a normal one.
