This manga it's very funny. I have this theory: the female women of tribe was not extincted. In the last chapter, I'm pretty sure Ota will not travel back alone in time to the present but he'll carry with him a prehistoric harem from the past so, the tribe don't really disappear by extinction but because he took them and bring them back with him to the present.

I can't read moonspeak, but the text at the end of the last chapter seems to suggest that Ota and Ubukata traveled to 2012 instead of 2014 (2014 is when the chrono-colliders send Ota and Ubukata back to the Jomon era).

Making a few predictions:

1) Ota becomes the author of the cavegirl manga that his 2014 self and Ubukata became fans of, using his knowledge of the Furuta tribe's language for the anime-adaption.

2) Rene and Amura weren't swallowed by the eathquake's chasm that killed off the other tribes and thus the Koben and Furuuta tribes bloodlines survived through their descendants to eventually become the modern Japanese of today.

3) As much as it pains me to say this, history and human genetics probably didn't alter with Ota and Ubukata's interferences in the past. I think Nagashima Chousuke isn't gonna give us what we really want. So no modern Japanese women with year-long lactation and huge tits natural to their genetics. No sexy Kappa girls to give lotion-sex without needing to actually get lotion in the modern age. No giantesses to make snu-snu with. And no altering of human (or at least Japanese) history to make society sexier or better. I think this series is going to end with time being cyclic and that everything witnessed up to the end of Chapter 26 was as it was meant to happen to lead to our present.
