I'm gonna agree and debate Luke78's comment. EVERYONE has some kind of fetish, even if it's just the basic dick-in-vagina fetish or well shaped body fetish that's pre-programming natural. There are some fetishes that are just naturally corruptive and bad, like a rape fetish, but some of the fetishes that seem like they belong in that category don't necessarily belong.
To be a bit more on topic, "It's fetishes like this that give furries the less than pleasant treatment...". Really? You're honestly going to say you think that Giantry/Giantess fetishes are primarily a Fur loving thing? That's just so off the mark that I'm not going to waste time debunking it. Look around here. There's more than enough around to prove your statement wrong.
Even worse, "Same with Vore, Diaper, [etc]". Really? REALLY? If anything, the diaper fetish was most certainly something that would have had its founding in japans deviants. No where else in the world is there as openly unified a community of people with fringe deviant desires. Try that anywhere else, and you'd get a law suit, or much much worse. Want an example? 'Tentacle Grape'. I dare you to try and find someplace else that would let a drink with that name publicly market to any degree whatsoever.
To return to topic again, I will concede that at least in the department of Giantry/Giantess and Vore, the Fur communities will more often have niche's that cater to these fetishes in them. This is because of a few things; The foremost, Giant'ing is easily imaginable as a biproduct of half animal shifting, and Vore? Come on. Carnivores. Do the math. What I will refute on that, is that if you compare some misc. assembled selections of vore from standard porn or hentai sources, things will often be alot more violent and 'unhappy ending', compared to the productions of the Fur community. That is not to say that the opposite does not exist in either party, but on average. This is because of the core mindset that an artist would need to utilize to envision a scenario with these things. If you utilize a more fantasy approach, which the Fur segment fits into, you have loads of possibilities for scenarios that can end happy for both parties of a power trip during a Vore or Giantry centered scene. With a less fantastical mindset, orienting closer to reality, you end up with a lot harder a time thinking up ways that the power trip can occur but not completely corrupt everything into murder and suffering. Look at this comic, A whole lot of people probably die during the city crushing. But it's just glossed over, hardly noticed, even with the reporter drawing attention to it. That's a product of the authors mindset. It's not about the power, it's about the enjoyment of the ideal. Just grow into a fuggin GOD and remake everyone. Happy ending. You'd get some REALLY funny looks or ridicule if you tried that anywhere closer to a more realistic scenario.
To summarize a point here, The Fur loving community will, the majority of the time, put a much happier spin on even the most deviant fetishes compared to other core scenario creators. If THIS comic is an example of fetishes being why furries get their unpleasant treatment, then they have every right to not give a fuck and punch the criticizer in the face. His opinion is so invalid as to not even be worth taking apart to refute.
