And I should say, we were really fucked by Hirameki International's English release of this game, Hourglass of Summer. They removed the sex scenes and made the game into a low quality interactive DVD with terrible password save system.

Okay maybe I'm jumping the gun and blaming the localization company out of ignorance. But I thought that would be possible but improbable that they converted a console-based visual novel into a DVD. You could technically record the video output of someone playing every route in the game on console and then turn the footage into a DVD, and overlay the translation over the Japanese text boxes. So I thought it was a safe bet to make this assumption that they forced it to be an all-ages version.

However, I looked it up. https://bc.vc/yCuQ3h says that the PC version came out first in 2003 and the English localization in 2004. If it isn't true, I could dig through my boxes to see if there is a date on the game's box.
