If you take a closer look at what the students are wearing then your question is kinda answered. The uniforms worn by the main characters of the original series look to be the same as the the uniforms worn in this story. So it's safe the say their aren't any cameo appearances but the the story seems to take place in the same school as the original. Weather this begins before or after the original is anyone's guess.

At my school the female teachers were either old or crazy. Sometimes both.
