It's a really nice work but personally I didn't really appreciate the fact that the mother and the other characters practically don't have eyes, it makes everything very weird.

It’s not that weird to see characters without eyes in anime/manga/hentai
There are 2 reasons for that;

1.the artist wants you to imagine what the MC looks like (usually in hentai), some might go as far as designing the children of MC without eyes for the very same reason (for better immersion).

2. The other reason is to portray their soft and kind personality/appearance. This is really common in anime.

作者想画的在过去的作品里基本都画出来，感觉现在灵感耗尽了。
而且后记里作者也说了现在自己动力低下，他也不清楚该画什么好（虽然目前想到了一个素材）。热情不如当年了，感觉需要点契机。
