There hasn't been any new info on the possible game that Rindou was messing around with.

Some of the images he posts on Fantia seem to indicate that they might be intended to be used in a game, based on names and whatnot... but there's no real indication that he's still working on it.

Given that he wasn't able to finish that one Sayaka manga he keeps working on for... 2-3 years now? Yeah. Don't expect a game to come out any time soon.

Hell, just think of the Liese VN. He had that planned out for... 8 years I think, if not longer, before it actually got out... and that was WAY simpler than an RPGM game with a battle-fuck system, sex-stats, and even lewd status effects. His planned project is way too ambitious...

This is very upsetting to hear. I never knew Rindou was this lazy and indecisive, had no idea he had been working on his Sayaka doujin for so long, is it cancelled now? I'm very disappointed in Rindou, had us thinking he'd release a battle demo at the end of last year so maybe I should have foreseen this. I'm concerned that he's the only one even working on the game at this point, I think his workload has been stacking up over this past year. Giving benefit of the doubt, I'd imagine the doujinshi release for Sakuya had him tied up for a bit. Maybe after Comiket is over we'll start seeing more progress.

Guys. There's a reason why Rindou is not one of the big names in places like Lilith or other hentai VN producers, in spite of the fact that he's a big fan of Taimanin and Magical Girl Ai and more. There's a reason why he's only done a few small designs for TABA, Eden's Ritter Grenze, and a few other small things...

The reason is that Rindou is a VERY whimsical artist. He likes to draw as the inspiration leads him. He's essentially never motivated about drawing solely for money. Everything is a passion project for him. Which is why unlike Aoi Nagisa, or Kagami, or any other big names that drew art for a lot of popular VNs and games, he's never gonna make it big because he doesn't have that level of consistency. The fact of the matter is that drawing CGs for games is very, VERY tedious work, and he's not good at it. You can notice it in the Liese VN too to an extent. It has a lot less CG per variation than plenty of other VNs out there, and that's because Rindou's bad at that sort of thing.

To an extent though, it's warranted. The amount of detail he puts in an individual image is pretty insane and well above many other artists. I've seen one rare time when he streamed, and the way he draws isn't slow, but it's super meticulous.

All in all, Rindou's an amazing artist... but commercially speaking, he's absolutely terrible. Even then, I still think it's worth supporting him on Fantia because he's cheap as hell for pretty good monthly content. I've seen artists that draw way less with way worse quality, and demanding higher prices... and somehow getting away with it!

For awhile now, its pretty clear to me that Rindou is quite a perfectionist about his work. I'm sure you all know another artist like that, it just comes with the hobby. I'm sure there's a lot of art block in trying to come up with different scenarios involving tentacles (although i would like to see more of that tentacle oji-san kiss sketch on p66)

There were some comments he made on twitter... 4 years ago? More? I don't remember exactly, about how he prefers to draw and whatnot. Also, I've seen more than one person offer suggestions about monetization, and he never went for any of that stuff. Hell. He has a Skeb, and he rarely opens it up for commissions, like, once every 5 years or so, I think. I'm not sure. Basically, Rindou does what he wants, and if not for the fact that he needs money to live, and maintain the kind of expensive PC set-up you need for the level of drawing he makes, then he probably would release everything for free, I suspect.

Hell, I think he only opened up his Fantia and opened up more to digital goods because he was starting to have money issues... But take that with a grain of salt. It's only speculation based on some of the PC problems he described having on Twitter.

As far as I know, there's no recording of it, unless someone thought to record it and kept it somewhere. It was at a pretty bad hour for me, so the idea didn't cross my mind at the time. It was pretty amazing to watch, not gonna lie... but it definitely made it clear why it takes so long to do the stuff he does. All that shading, shine, layers, fine details... I couldn't do anything like that if I had a thousand years to practice in learn tbh. No talent at all on my end, while he has enough for at least twenty people if not more.

Although I concure with everything you said about the artist, allow me to turn the attention to the elephant in the room.
As a consumer of hentai, we can agree that we use the material for fapping ultimately. So having a perfectionned product is honestly overkill, especially if it hurdles the production amount, I mean we're fine with gray shaded works if it's gonna be more consistent at this point. In case of rindou, we basically had one good doujin in like 5 years or more, and that's a terrible output. Let's take for example and for the sake of comparison, another Japanese creator like ishimura who produces some high quality anal tentacle stuff, the guy produced in the last 3 years 4 big doujins alongside many small stories in fanbox. Which takes me to the second point, the artist does not have any selling outlet except for the shitty fantia platform that I can't use alongside many other people: its like he doesn't want his products to be sold. Also, he doesn't interact with his fans at all neither on Twitter nor the other platform he put in his account description.
Many other points I'd like to hover over but I believe I made a point already.
The bottom line: unless he changes his approach, become more committed, his fanbase will steadily shrink and he will be forgotten, although his potential can allow him to be amongst the top h-creators.

It's definitely true that Rindou could use more advertising and more consistency... but that's ultimately only relevant in the context of making more money, which he doesn't seem to care about past a certain point.

Fantia IS a pretty crappy platform, it was a pain in the ass to get money through in there... but as far as I know, that's NOT an issue for Japanese fans... and the bad side of Rindou is that, as far as I can tell, he doesn't care about fans outside of Japan, nor does he have much of an awareness of them. It's why he was so focused on the Comikets for the most part, and why, to this day, most of his products aren't available digitally on places like dlsite. Hell, the recent Sakuya books are only available digitally because Kuroi Hiroki put them up on dlsite under HIS circle (according to Ci-en, the second Sakuya book will be up some time this January). There hasn't been anything new published under Radical Dream or Radical Blacksmith in ages... assuming Rindou even remembers that these exist on dlsite... He's also basically stopped using pixiv. As far as I know, he hasn't touched or done anything with it in years (I have him followed on there too, and nothing new's popped up). He just posts stuff on Twitter and Fantia now.

I don't know the full extent of how much he's been told about monetization, but he obviously just doesn't care. He wants to draw what he wants to draw. The existence, or lack-thereof, of a fanbase, doesn't seem to be a big concern for him, or at least, not outside of Japan. From what I got from Kuroi Hiroki's Ci-en posts, the wall scrolls with Sakuya sold out super fast and there was a demand for more, so it's pretty clear that his fanbase in JP is NOT sufferring in any real sense.

With the quality of his art, and the quality of his characters, I don't think that his fanbase will ever drop completely, especially since people posting said art in places like this and others will basically be free advertisement even outside of Japan... but Rindou will never be a big artist. To be a big artist you need to compromise in ways that he clearly doesn't want too, and that's not gonna change unless his income gets seriously shafted.

I mean, I'm following Rindou for his top tier character designs more than anything else. The kink level in his hentai is pretty tame. Smash Daisaku and Tamiya Akito and so on are generally more my speed in the tentacle department. In spite of that, Rindou is still my absolute favorite artist because no one else even comes close in terms of designing hot sluts in tight clothing. I'll give some points to the Matai Toshi setting as a whole, for the way it handles its demons and other things which makes it way more internally consistent than say... the Taimanin setting... but overall, the scenes aren't anything I haven't seen elsewhere... It's the characters that make it so good for me.

So even with his weird pacing and whimsical nature. The constant drip of art every month for a measly 500 yen is no real expense for me. So it's easy for me to support Rindou, even though he probably doesn't even know I exist.

As for the overseas thing... Supporting overseas fans means knowing English... and English is hard for Asian language speakers. I can't really blame him for not wanting to make that sort of effort. MTL only takes you so far, and if you want accurate results using that, you need to use several of them, and maybe some dictionaries to cross-reference stuff. It's a massive pain in the ass.

Well, Rindou is one of the few Japanese artists that makes the genitals pretty detailed on his girls. Keeping it covered with the suits lets him keep some of those details with minimal censorship. Exposing them means that he has to put in more censorship. Take this image for example:

It's barely censored really. And he can get away with it like that because of the suit.

Without it, he has to add a lot more to not get in trouble with the law.

He also combines this with "censoring" via overabundance of slime/cum/whatever around the area to obscure things while looking more natural.

That said, I too wish for more extreme kinks... but it's not his thing and that's that. Gotta respect the man for sticking to his guns.

@Listeur and @lexist: The thing is, during his time drawing comics and novel illustrations for Kill Time Communication, Rindou was quite willing to draw girls getting fucked without a suit getting in the way. The only exception was an anthology chapter from 2007: http://e-hentai.fbk.tokyo/index/g/98478/5efe3b9a34/ . The same goes for the illustrations he provided for Nengoku no Liese and other game CGs he's drawn for outside clients. It wasn't until he teamed up with Kuroi Hiroki and started the Matai Toshi that he regularly started drawing "girl in full-bodysuit gets violated by tentacles directly through her suit", and even then the scenes with Sakuya still have her suit removed or pulled to the side. So yeah, I think there's more to it than simply avoiding censorship.

The thing is that there's like... 4-5 artists that use some variation of Rindo/Rindou in their name.

Obviously, the favorite for me, this one, is the one I generally refer to as Rindou:

I suspect that Rindou is a fairly common Internet name in Japan for some kind of reason, as that's the only real explanation for why multiple peeps seem to use it.

Hell, if you search for 竜胆 on pixiv, you will get 67! results on an exact match, and I didn't bother to check exactly how many on a partial match. Our dear Radical Dream is in the partial match category btw. If you add in りんどう, your probably get something like 150 something rindous... and that's basically just artists of various types on pixiv. No telling how many more might be around twitter or something else.

So. Uh. Yeah. The problem is a tad complicated...

As for Radical Blacksmith and Rindou Aya being connected... I haven't seen any proof or indication of anything of that sort at any point. Dunno what that guy is smoking, but Rindou hasn't mentioned absolutely anything about a partner or significant other or anything of that sort really on their Twitter, and I doubt we wouldn't have seen SOMETHING by now if there was anything going on...

@lexist: I suspect the Rindou/Rindo Aya confusion comes from the fact that "rindou_aya" was the former tag for this artist's works on Danbooru and Gelbooru. Also, Sankaku Complex uses both tags for the same artist.

I don't think anyone knows with Rindou will do... not even Rindou. Whoever they are IRL, they work VERY randomly by the looks of things. As far as I know, they never streamed again after that one time, much like how they rarely worked on skeb. In general, it feels like Rindou sees shiny new things every now and then, tries them out for a bit, and if they don't like it, they don't stick with it. It's honestly amazing that they're still going with the Fantia... and that's probably more because they really need the money than anything else and that's more convenient than commissions.

We know that Rindou was messing around with RPGM, and we know that he likes RPGM games and that he wanted to make a Matai Toshi game and has experimented with the idea in a number of ways. However, we do not know if he actually got into coding properly, or if he's just drawing art for a potential game and looking for someone to do the code work the same way her cooperates with Kuroi Hiroki for novels. We do know that he cooperated very briefly with Kooooonsoft, but that broke down for unknown reasons and neither side has mentioned the other since then.

We DO know that he CAN do coding stuff. The original Sayaka bodysuit mod for Skyrim was created by Rindou himself, at least, so it seems based on what info I was able to track... However...

I wouldn't get my hopes up tbh. Rindou's not the most consistent artist, and likes to follow his whims and moods... while the creation of art for a game is very repetitive and methodic, which doesn't really work well with what he likes to do. It's highly debatable if he'll live long enough to ever finish a demo, much less a game. Let's not forget that Nengoku no Liese, the VN, was in the works a looooooooooooooong ass time, since that Appetizer came out ages ago. A VN like that is much easier to make than any kind of RPGM game with battle rape and erotic status effects like increased boob-size... to say nothing of all the issues with art/poses/coding/etc.

I wouldn't say that there's been a lot of AI art attempting to immitate Rindou specifically. There's been a lot of stuff with bodysuits, but Rindou is hardly the only artist that does sloots in skintight bodysuits getting assaulted by tentacles and the like. He's not even the most well known for it, no matter how good he is. As far as I know, and I HAVE looked, no one's seriously tried to train an AI model to specifically immitate Rindou's style... and that sort of thing IS possible and is becoming increasingly more accurate as time passes. Even then, we're years away from having anything other than singular character models. Who knows how long it'll take until AI can draw HANDS consistently, much less complex stuff like hentai scenes outright?

Been a while since I looked in here... Sorry for not replying sooner, @Listeur

When it comes to recommendations of artists similar to Rindou... it kind of depends on what you're looking for exactly here. What I seriously like about Rindou the most is the level of quality in his characters themselves. The fetishes, as I've mentioned before, are not particularly amazing and often quite tame, but his quality when it comes to women/girls in bodysuits/leotards/tight-clothing is pretty much unmatched.

Because of this, I heavily disagree with tentacle_aaa that mochimako is in any way similar to Rindou. The character quality, whether in colored images or black-and-white, or anything, is basically nowhere near close. Maybe they draw similar fetishes and situations and whatnot, but I didn't look too heavily into it beyond the characters. mogO-721 comes closer, but to my knowledge, they only ever drew ONE work with a girl in a tight bodysuit, and while it was pretty good and the character quality was nice... Well. If Rindou is 15/10, then mogO-721 is probably 9/10 in my book. http://e-hentai.fbk.tokyo/index/g/1884532/0d6f65006b/ is a pretty damn good work, but the character is just... not quite as good.

When it comes to similar level of quality in terms of characters, I'd recommend Aoi Nagisa, who draws really amazing characters in tight clothing and bodysuits due to their work for Taimanin Yukikaze and Taimanin Asagi and its gacha versions... however they rarely draw tentacle stuff if they can help it and as an artist they're quite vanilla. Top notch characters to be sure though.

Nandz is a relatively newer artist, or at least one without that many published works that are available, but, they've put up stuff like this: http://e-hentai.fbk.tokyo/index/g/2066019/244b0d210a/ , which is 200% amazing. Seems like they're active on Skeb though, so anyone that has the money and can work around Japanese can probably commission them for stuff.

artist:8000$ is also pretty amazing in terms of characters, but they also draw a lot of futanari stuff lately, so I don't know if that's going to be to some people's tastes. Not much full color stuff there though, but very good character designs, especially when drawing girls in tight stuff. Tentacle content is pretty sparse.

The list can go up and down all over the place depending on what exactly you're looking for and what exactly you're seeing in Rindou's art. Everyone focuses on different things with their preferences after all. For me, I think the ideal artist would be someone that could draw in Rindou's style, but with a mixture of fetishes from Smash Daisaku, Tamiya Akito, Fan no Hitori and a dash of Fatalpulse without specifically rampant mysoginy. I probably won't live long enough for AI art to get to the point where it can truly imitate Rindou's art perfectly with added fetishes, so I'll never get to see the combination of my dreams, but someone might eventually.

I hope the Rindou isn't posting all these digital uploads of his old doujins as a send-off for his doujin career. He's slowed down significantly, and I feel like he's nearing retirement. Maybe he's still working on the next Matai Toshi, but I don't want to keep gaslighting myself with that because it all feels off. We're eating scraps every month on Fantia, I wish he would post more differences but I don't know what's going on.

All I was able to grasp is that he's changed his work set-up significantly during the last month and it doesn't seem to have worked out quite the way he wanted it too, making his work harder instead of easier.

What that will lead too is anyone's guess at this moment.

As for his monthly content. Well. A lot can be debated about how much is worth for ~5$ a month. Most artists I know that deliver more than that per month also usually charge more or have other arrangements like Skeb, or Pixiv requests etc.

If anything, his pace until recently was perhaps unusually good tbh.

Part of me still hoping that he's working on something big (preferably the RPGM game for me) while also looking after himself, but deep down my worry of him going to retire in the near future is getting bigger too, especially with less and less variations in his Fantia.

If he decides to retire, NO ONE can fill the gap he left... I mean, who else can draw high quality tentacle arts/works consistently for years? NONE.
There's also my favourite fact that his tentacle works never went to the disgusting route. Focusing only on the teasing, penetration and corruption of the girls without any of those pregnant/etc which is really rare these days. So far, the only artist i found which follows this fact is only this guy named ウニ9６

Also, the fact that Japanese novels tend to use that vertical reading is kinda annoying and hard to crop so i used the Chinese one for testing.
I did it in a roundabout way but the result seems good enough for me.

Welp, I'm not gonna comment on the above since it doesn't make much sense to me, since to my knowledge there's only one book that's not fully available in JP here, and that's the mini Sayaka book that only has 2 pages of text in it.

More importantly, Rindou has once more announced that they got a spot for the Comiket, on Sunday, and that he wants to print the Sayaka book by then. Will he succeed? Who knows? We won't know until late December, possible right on the 31st since the winter comiket is happening 30-31st.

Honestly, I just don't get why he's so obsessed with the Comikets and using those as deadlines and ways to unveil his stuff...

It was just the .png version of the Sakuya color manga. Some people were asking specifically for a .png version and it seems that Rindou eventually listened and updated the fantia post in question.

He posted about it on Twitter... pardon, ahem, X, too.

I get that this is a copy of his Fantia posts, but why add two doujinshi (both YEARS old) to the end of an image gallery? They should be split off into their own galleries if it matters so much.

It's not a copy of the post. It's literally the same post. It seems that Fantia, when you update an old post, moves it to the front as if it's new. It's probably the default setting, but as I'm not a creator on Fantia, I don't know if it's the only setting, or if Rindou just can't be assed to change that detail whenever he updates a post.

You can tell by the fact that if you enter the post, the buttons up top for the previous and next post are the same ones from when this was originally posted. Obviously, if it was a completely new post, the Newer Post button wouldn't work at all.

If you want to be accurate in terms of gallery cover that reflects Rindou's Fantia, the cover should be 272, since that's what he's using as the banner on Fantia.

That's just my opinion though.

Also, can someone tell me what the heck am I saying that keeps pissing off this johnschiffer guy? Does he just dislike me out of principle or something? Because it's getting weird how he singles out my posts in this gallery all the time... it's not like he upvotes or downvotes any other posts, and that's pretty abnormal. Who does that?
