I normally do my hardest not to judge what people jerk off and get horny to, but god, AI porn is so UGLY I have no idea how anyone can actually jerk off to it, it's so distracting!

Distracting how. It used to be far worse than this and people still jerked off. If i recall people complained less about a.i generated hentai when all the generated characters looked like they had skin shade of some 2 day old corpse and were super low resolution. Now that it got to a point where its challenging artists people are getting upset.
On one hand yes, if an artist quits because a machine makes it impossible to sustain themselves its not fair. Instead what they should do, train one with all their artwork and generate new pictures in whatever pose they choose. Or brain storm poses. Then use their mastery of the craft to touch them up. That way they could churn out 2-5 times more works for the same amount of time. Making everyone happy and likely increasing their revenue by a good amount. It's a tool in the end and i hope my favorite artists incorporate it into their workflow when it becomes easier and cheaper to run in a year or two.
