Where do I find the real artists whose art was used to train this AI?

they use tens of thousands of artists then generate samples then train on those samples as well sometimes, so it's going to be hard to find the "originals"

@EDP if you think that there is a list of artists you can look at that where "these images came from", you just fundamentally do not understand how AI works.
For the moment AI generation still has many limitations when it comes to posing characters and what not (e.g. all images here have the girl standing upright, because that's the kind of poses that give the best looking results).
But it won't be long before you get to a point where "real artists" will start training models on their own stuff, then generating stuff in their own style. And you won't be able to tell one way or the other.

@uvauva2 Yeah... The sad thing is there are solutions to all of the issues AI gened art has that work. And are free. And not hard to find. It's just most people are not looking for them.

@KiT2142 Even with the flaws in these outputs, it still looks better than a LOT of humans work. The weird thing is... like... the model that corrects hands, the extension to manually input poses, and the many LoRAs and VAEs that will unfuck those eyes are like, free. Also for something like this there's an existing extension that would let you make the between images... I could do better than this in about 15 minutes. I won't because I don't give enough of a shit and I have enough to do with generating concept art for my TTRPG but like, seriously. This is amateur-hour shit. If this guy knew what he was doing you couldn't tell it was AI-generated. We're already at that point.

Real artist will use AI in the future, AI is just another set of tools in a artists kit, artist have evolved a lot, in the past they painted everything with a brush by hand. And then computers where made while a lot of people might have tought back then computers won't ever be used for art. They where wrong, there are tools today, that artist can use on the pc, to make their live easier, by for example drawing a 3d model of a character, allowing the artist to move their drawn pose in 3d in realistic ways. Making it they don't have to redraw the same model over and over for a long comic.

AI will become a important part of art in the future. Imagine all the possibilities with AI art for Artist in the future, Imagine this scenario, you are making a comic and want to introduce a new character.

You can train AI in the future on said comic and make it draw a character for you, with descriptions you give it of what you want it to be. It will then create that new character for you to your descriptions, it might not end up perfect or close to perfect but it will be close enough that you don't have to make one from scratch but can edit the one the ai created yourself to remove the flaws. That way you spare out a ton of time in creating that new character, meaning that time can be spend for more panels in your comic for example. Thinking of new future comic ideas , answer community questons, create community polls in your extra free time you just got, etc.

To call people that use AI automatically not real artist is just disengenious, cause you are talking about all people using ai, so be carefull of that.

Of course there will be bad actors, everything new will have bad actors, that use ai to just try and steal others peoples styles, but in the end that will be easily to notice and I am sure the community and juristictions will adapt laws for it.

Guys, I'm gonna be honest, I'm just hear to beat my meat, and the threshold for shiit that gets me going is pretty low. Can we just leave it tagged AI and everyone who doesnt like it blacklists it? @nivada13 I keep hearing people talk about AI like the invention of photographs and photoshop, to me that is extremely naive and overly optimistic.

There is no historical parallel for what is happening here.

Sure the invention of photography meant instant portraits instead of needing to sit for hours while someone painted you, but the visual difference between oil painting and photos were still huge. Even the works of the great masters all had their own distinct styles, that were unmistakable for photographs (especially in the years before digital photo manipulation. People still liked paintings because well, it was a different look than a straight capture of reality. With photoshop the process of painting could be massively sped up with much more flexibility. Ok we've come to the point where concept artists take a lot of stock and nonstock photos to photobash stuff together but that isn't so different from collage and then painting over to achieve the final result. And oftentimes they do enough to make it their own.

With AI, it is not a parallel medium, not an assistant, but a master in training that can skip the entire process near instantaneously with stunning results not as an alternative art form, but the exact same art form. It is doing THE EXACT same thing artists are doing, at lightspeed, for free. Indiscriminate of style, subject, and medium. That now leaves only agency and ideation at the hands of the human initiating it, without the need for any real execution. And you think that's gonna help artists how? The very definition of an artist is in peril.
