Other than the first two pages, which pay homage to "A Witch Shall be Born", I don't see a connection to the Conan canon. That said, I'm definitely hoping for more of this story.

First pages, Kana want to run away from Asheena for whatever reason, and even obey the two Sonja.
And now, she seemed to one of the favoriste, have two bodyguards and choose the boy to carry her stuff. She presented herself as a slave running away to find another master, and now it seems she was pretty much respected from her ancient powerful master.

Right now, it doesn't make much sense.
