How is jpeg better? jpeg are compressed image files. When you compress the image you ALWAYS lose data. This data can never be recovered from the jpeg file. In other words, all jpeg files are of crap quality because they have lost data. The jpeg file is not how the image looked originally when the artist actually drew the image. So how is jpeg files in anyway better than PNG? You do not lose data when you save an image file in the PNG format.
