I'd say yes. Even though it's a copy, the male personality truly believes it has changed gender and behaves accordingly. That's not significantly different from possession.

The works by this artist always have dark twists and plots like this. So I don’t think it’s ruined or anything, and I more or less guessed the personality transfer thing when Rio’s flashbacks started happening. Very good

So technically its a happy ending. playboy gone, silly tsundere now not tsundere anymore, and not yandere get her waifu.......Well its a Theseus Ship Conundrum again because of the memory things, but Theseus Ship is still a ship even if you change it, only smart people with a lot of free time tries to think that hard about it.

Pairing a Yandere with a Tsundere is truly are amusing. And yes the life of a random playboy is worth it.

Just read this twice. This is all I can understand chronologically:

1. Real Sae confessed to the original Rio. The latter didn't want to, admitting she has a crush on real Izu.

2. In her anger, real Sae then abducted original Rio and slapped her into the Mental Transcription Device the former invented. Real Sae approached real Izu next but had him tied up, stripped naked, and examined his brain where she will use real Izu's brain patterns for the Mental Transcription Device where she will program original Rio think she's Izu having a crush on her imaginary Sae that ends with "Izu" accepting an offer where "he" goes through "gender change" to be with imaginary Sae.

3. Real Izu comes to and is shown what real Sae did to original Rio. Real Sae then has real Izu eliminated.

Did I miss anything?

Chronological summary

The setup before anything happens:

a) Sae loves Rio. She doesn't tell anyone she's gay.
b) Rio loves Sae. She doesn't tell anyone she's gay.
c) Rio doesn't know Sae is gay. Rio assumes Sae is straight and doesn't want to out herself and get rejected.
d) Izu loves Sae. He assumes she's straight.

1) Izu starts putting the moves on Sae because of D.
2) Rio sees 1, and because of B thinks she'll lose Sae or worst case scenario Sae loves Izu.
3) Because of C, Rio claims to love Izu and says "bitch, keep away from my man" to stall.
4) Sae thinks Rio loves Izu so doesn't reveal A. Sae hates Izu out of jealousy.
5) Izu escalates 1 and confesses to Sae.
6) Because of 4, Sae won't accept 5. Sae says to Izu "come back later", giving her time to construct/complete the brain copier/rewriter.
7) Sae completes the brain copier/rewriter. She claims it's a gender swap machine. Izu trusts her because of D and enters the machine while making it appear as if he's disappeared to everyone else.
8) Sae now has a copy of Izu's brain. She knocks him out and ties him up.
9) Sae kidnaps Rio. Sae overwrites Rio's brain with her copy of Izu's brain. We'll now call this entity Izu-Rio.
10) Izu-Rio wakes up and thinks the "gender swap" is a success. (remember, from Izu-Rio's view his memory stops at 7, so he entered the gender swap device a guy then exited as a girl)
11) Izu-Rio and Sae fuck. Izu-Rio remembers 3, but dismisses it as impossible.
12) Sae shows Izu her recording of 11 because of 4 to rub it in and reveals 9 (to Izu and the reader). Sae kills Izu. (if she didn't hate him, she'd probably just kill him after confirming her device works, no point to rubbing it in)
13) The double twist: Izu-Rio remembers 9 and 2. Dismisses it as irrelevant. It is revealed to the reader this entire story could have been avoided if instead of 3, Rio just revealed B. Two people died because Rio couldn't be honest. The story ends.

13 addresses a plot hole: if Rio was sincere about 3, how come Izu-Rio doesn't recognize her when she wakes up or when she's shown to real Izu at 12? If she was making moves on him, surely he'd recognize her. Perhaps he gets so many ladies he doesn't recognize all of them, but it makes much more sense if he's ACTUALLY never seen her before.
