Page 11: Y'know, I was going to make a joke about the woman being actively eaten choosing SASS as her response to "WHAT DO I DO?!", but I thought about it more, and that's completely in-line with how she's been acting. She shows up to see a woman being consumed, and makes jokes about it. She gets caught herself, and her reaction is embarrassment ("I've never failed a mission before now!") and exasperation and sarcasm for her panicing partner. There's no instinctual terror, there's no true panic. This woman has no survival instinct. The other women may lack it, too, from what little we see.

So her sass at her partner's question is not out-of-place comedy, but WORLD-BUILDING. This is showing us that this is a universe where women have somehow lost the lizard-brain level desire for self-preservation. And this is how they conduct themselves in an emergency.

Yup, that's what I'm going with.
