It's a translation with portions re-written due to translator laziness/lack of skill, it's not a complete re-write.

I'll never understand dweebs who need their porn comics to be translated so accurately that they become dull and unsexy - a lot of the translations posted here have that problem. It's like reading a 12 year old writing his first english sex story. Limited vocabulary and metaphors/slang that don't work well in English and ruin any sort of erotic immersion.

Translating eroticism requires some level of localization. What sounds sexy in one language doesn't always translate well/sexy into another language. That's why whoever is translating should natively speak the language they are translating something into.

So what you're saying is that this work still doesn't pass your criteria. By the uploader's own admission he is 1) not a native English speaker 2) relying on machine translation (so not a native JP speaker either) and 3) filling the gaps in with whatever unfunny memes or slang he got a chuckle out of at the time. Aka a 12-year old writing their first cringe post. Except it's his second cringe post.

You are right, though. Translation isn't a 1-for-1 and is about conveying the feeling and intent as much as the words, and I don't think Yuzu was suggesting otherwise. I also don't think this upload succeeds by your metric, either. A good localization doesn't make you wonder if you're reading a rewrite or shitpost 10% of the way in, like this one did for me. If you're gonna go yelling at clouds in the sadpanda comments you could probably stand to read the "Translator's Note" of the person you're defending.
