the terms alpha and beta come from an old study on wolves which has later been proven false by the same guy who conducted it, these terms aren't even correct when it comes to wolves, let alone humans, it's just fake old science that people cling to.

No, the term alpha and beta comes from greek numerals of 1 and 2. Alpha and Beta may be used to term First group and Second group while studying a pack of wolves but people are referring to the actual terminology of the number one, the chosen one, the hero, the best, the protagonist. Alphas are common in literature. Any protagonist of a story whether male or female are an alpha if their role is to lead the story.
Hell, the two transfemales in the comic are the alpha of the comics because they are dominating the betas. Do you see how this works.
