I have to say this is basically netorare. Netorare isn't the physical aspect of it, it's the emotional. The feeling of something being taken from the protagonist from our view point. In this case, his first love was taken from him by someone he may never know. And the end is finding out he didn't measure up to the original (probably experienced one). If the story had continued with their relationship growing then you could make a case it isn't since their romance blossomed but in this case he's obviously going to be haunted by her past. She didn't really reassure him, but instead put it on him to "overwrite" her past. And then indicated he didn't/couldn't do it. Specifically she says "I can't forget my past" which means her love for him is not overwriting her experiences. The relationship is completely doomed since neither of them will move on from it.

I've seen other non-virgin stories, particularly one where the MC of the story became obsessed about it until she took him aside near the end and assured him that she loves him and the past is the past and that relationship failed and now she loves him more then anything else. If you want the story to have that setting that's how you do it. This is not it. You're not supposed to feel assured here.
