I agree... Because unless you live in the United States, the proper term is "football".

For a fanwork, this is actually a pretty decent attempt at emulating the character designs of the original Captain Tsubasa series.

I'm not a fan of the term "soccer" but it is not inaccurate. Soccer is shorthand for Association football, so as to differentiate it from Rugby football which used to commonly be referred to as "rugger".
