In retrospect, I don't think people were mad about Elise kissing Sonic because it was weird, but because nobody thought Sonic Team was crazy enough to put something like that in an actual Sonic game. You have to be some combination of crazy and autistic to make someone's erotic fanfiction the plot of your video game.
But now Sonic Team has fully embraced the autism associated with Sonic, that's why Forces is as delightfully cringy as it is. Honestly, I don't think Sonic would be what it is if not for shit like this.
As if the movie wasn’t bad enough, we now have to bring up this abortion again?
Honestly, I feel like a Sonic just needs to be allowed to die with whatever shreds of dignity he still has remaining.
@ The Butt Wizard, you may have a point, but I don’t think it helps that simply EVERYTHING about 06 was bad. There isn’t a single redeeming feature to, at the very least, even distract from just how terrible the entire thing was. Elise is just the runny, lumpy, splatter on top of the shitcake.
@Banatine Fair enough. I wasn't justifying 06, just saying that Elise is most likely the straw that broke the camel's back in terms of Sonic's dignity. The Sonic fanbase has and always will be degenerate and autistic, but the Elise thing just added fuel to that dumpster fire.
It's kinda sad about the state of Sonic. Everytime the franchise makes a recovery, something comes along to kick it back down. People didn't think Sonic could make a comeback until at the earliest Colors came out, and it wasn't until Generations that people could have faith in Sonic Team again. But then Forces and the Sonic Boom games come out and put the franchise back under, and the movie is looking to put the franchise back to where 06 left it.
Also His World is one of the best main Sonic themes in the series, but that's something that should be credited towards the people who wrote and performed the song, not the game itself.
