You know, I can totally see this happening if Deirdre was more vindictive and evil. After all it was the mortals that had the audacity to just "forget" their pack and go kill her original body while she faithfully upheld her end of the bargain for hundreds of years. To just go "OPPS WE DUN FCK'D UP, SORRY PLS FORGIVE US AND FORM ANOTHER PACT" right after..... The funny thing is when the Goblins came in I was like "Wait a sec, so we going into Goblin Slayer crossover now? That's not how the ritual works!" but then that plot twist at the end, friggen excellent haha. It was super obvious in hindsight but slipped my mind since I was still thinking in terms a normal but perverted canon.
Only small nitpick is that the artist used the Scathacha body to represent Deirdre instead of her dragon form. Since this doujin takes place before the Scathacha body was created there should be no reference to it yet. Especially since the Scathacha body is actually made to be based on Heles/the royal family's genes in canon. Hence the same grey hair, eye color, Erune features, etc. I also thought it might be a mental projection in Heles's mind since True Dragon magic is that flexible, but since Deirdre in this doujin has no intention to save Irestel there's no reason for her to take an Erune form. Unless she was trying to let Heles's guard down by appearing like a fellow Erune in her mind, that could be it.
