You know what else sucks? Rape, blackmail, incest, violence, etc. All of these are broadcast every day on reality TV, crime dramas, and soap operas.

Fantasy is not real life.
In real life, there are victims.
In art, there are no victims, and anyone can choose to stop reading the comic at any time if it does not appeal to them.

An artist would have to be doing something which threatened another person's livelihood before they would be, as you describe, "misdirected." (For example, creating slanderous or libellous materials about someone to cause them financial or emotional harm.)
