If you think about it, Zelda is a canon pervert. At the end of the game, she mentions she watched Link’s whole adventure. Watched over him the whole time. Sounds innocent at first until you think: Link was a 17 year old amnesiac, who frequently encountered attractive women. Due to him being an amnesiac, he certainly wouldn’t remember any of the trained sexual repression a knight would’ve been taught. So there’s years of repressed sexual desires he is able to entertain. Loved how pro-active Zelda was in this, makes it so much more enjoyable to have her genuinely enjoying herself.

And yeah, Link does talk in the games, we just aren't allowed to hear it (beyond his grunts and yells when fighting or his humming to himself when cooking and such). Its noted in Breath of the Wild that he was rather silent in the old days in order to try to project a more mature and knightly image to others, but after bout of amnesia he clearly doesn't adhere to that so much.
