Nick is babbling into the phone drunk while judy is away and says all the info someone would have needed to attack judy that night. basically if he didnt do that she prob wouldent have been attacked since they wouldent have known shed be there. writing wise its way too specific for a drunk person to say but honestly im so floored by the artists linework i dont care lol

Nightfire just didn't clarify, basically Judy went to the toilet at the party leaving her phone behind, nick picked it up and blabbed drunk about the cave where she was stabbed which is on her 6 a.m. running route giving whoever it was the info they needed to catch her alone. Notice Judy also drops a comment about the bartender, who seemed less than thrilled about her and nick, probably overhearing this drunk babbling. So in summary Nick inadvertently helped the attackers in planning Judy's attack while drunk, which everyone knew about but Nick. Hence why Nick is devastated.

Panel 158 showed the bartender in the background of the video too, so there's an implication that he's one of the attackers, which I'm guessing is what Silver is following up on. Nick is feeling ashamed because he effectively gave the attackers all the info they'd need to find Judy that morning, and now he probably sees his confession and relationship as a continual source of harm to her (go back and look at his behavior in the hospital). I'm pretty sure he believes the longer he stays with Judy, the worse things will get for her; he's already used to being looked down on for being a fox, and there's a big stigma surrounding pred-prey relationships, so in his mind, leaving will somehow make things better for her in the long run...which is pretty much the worst conclusion he could come to.

I'm bummed that Spin is switching to more a text-based format going forward, but at least the story continues.

Really? The art's great, but it's not anywhere near the amount of detailing in it you would see from artist like Rem 289 or Borba. Most of it is devoid of backgrounds. Every artist is different though, maybe the line work is just too taxing.
