After the knight captain and her band of knights were all defeated and captured. Details of which are in all the other Grassen's War series. The rebels insulted her with an offer that if she could service the entire rebel army, only she and the emperor will be executed, sparing the lives of all her subordinates. Unexpectedly she agreed to the offer and submitted herself to the rebels. She pleasured every last man of the rebel army none stop for seven days. Prior to her execution, one of her subordinates, a sorceress was able to escape and come to her rescue. However, she refused to be saved, citing it's best for her to be a martyr instead, but made the sorceress promise to aid her daughter if she is ever in need. The sorceress left and used sorcery to change her own memory into having learned of her captain's execution too late, as she couldn't bare the thought of being in the position of saving her captain but was forced to be turned away instead.

Before her execution, she was visited by Grinius, god of time and space in the story's universe. Asking her if she's alright with her life ending like this. She replied that she is perfectly content with all the good she experienced before her downfall. It is then revealed that she has had a previous life, where she made a deal with Grinius moments before her previous death (the hallucination on page 10 here was actually a flashback of her past life, not her current one, as it was implied that she will be dead soon by one of her assailants in the flashback), she wanted to be reincarnated as someone strong, in exchange she'll serve Grinius in her 3rd incarnation. She is now ready to die and then proceeds to serve Grinius as per their agreement.

This possibly links Grune to somebody who has died back in the time of the empire's invasion to Node. Based on her age of death (22 years old), it would place her date of birth sometime during the Node invasion according to the story timeline on DPC's website.
