1600px is standard for regular scans. I down scaled for the sake of reducing the overall file size.

1600px is not standard for anything. 1600px is what was used by old scanlation groups that didn't want to put effort into cleaning bad magazine raws, so they just down scaled them so people wouldn't notice the flaws. Also, saving in a restricted color depth using an indexed format file size is never an issue. Saving in 16 or 32 bit color depth is ideal.

There's really no reason not to keep a large resolution. Down scaling the image does not effect quality at all, so anyone with a small monitor is not effected, but anyone with a large monitor has the page stretched if they fit it to their screen. And stretching it makes it look bad.

I see, thank you for the pointers. I only downscaled thinking that a smaller file size is just more convenient to download and keep around. I did not know that it affected those with larger monitors.
